Pipedream
Pipedream connects APIs for developers. Note: its Workflows product shuts down on March 31, 2027; only Connect continues.
Pipedream is an integration platform for developers and has been part of Workday since 2026. Important up front: the Workflows product described here no longer accepts new customers and shuts down on March 31, 2027; only Pipedream Connect, the connectors for your own apps and AI agents, continues. Similar to Zapier, you connect apps using triggers and actions, but at any point in the workflow, you can insert real code in Node.js or Python. Over 3,000 apps are connected with managed authentication.
Typical uses include processing Stripe webhooks, transforming data between APIs, building Slack bots, and connecting AI agents to tools. Its strength lies in its speed: the platform handles authentication, hosting, and logs, so you only write the logic and can see the data flow through each step with every run.
Without programming knowledge, Pipedream offers little benefit — in that case, Zapier or Make would be better choices. Compared to n8n, you save on self-hosting, but you give up control over the infrastructure, which can be an issue with strict data protection requirements.
That makes Pipedream a non-starter for new workflow projects; Connect remains interesting for developers who want to give their own apps or agents ready-made integrations. Non-technical users should look into Make instead.
